FINANCIAL AID FOR GRADUATE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Financial aid for graduate international students attending university or college in the US is more plentiful that that available to undergraduate international students. However, competition is very strong for these limited awards. Nonetheless, for graduate international students who are prepared to invest time in planning and searching, the effort can pay off.

Note: All of the discussion and sources listed relate to financial aid for eligible international students for full-time study or at least half-time study leading to master's or doctoral degrees. Furthermore, the lists shown are not comprehensive. Rather, they take a practical orientation by listing those sources most likely to be relevant to a critical segment of the international student population.
Funding sources for things like short-term studies, international exchanges, travel to US conferences and workshops, studying for qualifying exams and non-degree studies is not included. In addition, the lists shown identify funding sources that have broad applicability, and thus do not identify sources restricted to narrowly defined geographic regions or demographic groups.
